Photo Fail versus Super Sighting

Look at my cool photo of … what exactly?
Honey Badger at Tamboti

Don’t you hate when that happens? You see something wonderful (for the first time) and are so excited that you completly forget how to make a decent photograph.

If you get out a loupe you might spot a Honey Badger. We saw it cross the riverbed from our deck at Tamboti Tented Camp, in Kruger National Park.

Here you might be able to decipher two Cape Clawless Otters.  We saw them from our safari tent at Lower Sabie, also in KNP. This is still my best.sighting.ever.

Cape Clawless Otter (Aonyx capensis)

At first I was so shocked I completely forgot about my camera. Imagine seeing two otters running along the banks of the Sabie River, weaving their way through hippos and crocodiles. I finally grabbed my Panasonic and managed a few pics before they disappeared in the water.

The fading light and my shaking hands didn’t do this super sighting any justice. What’s your worst/best Photo Fail versus Super Sighting?

  1. It’s challenging to pick just one, there are so many. It’s one problem that buying myself a better camera won’t fix.
